ABC of exclamations

ABC of exclamations

a performative video-sound-poem WP

Comic drawings: Kastuś Žhybul

Poetry: Vera Burlak

Composition: Georgia Koumará

Animated film: Monika Nuber

Enigmatically funny comic figures, bizarre poetic stories and absurd-fantastic animated videos emerge from the sober Belarusian ABC. Georgia Koumará embeds images and stories in a large, expansive sound narrative: a strong plea for imagination, empathy and freedom.

»tremblement« has increasingly become a metaphor for all kinds of trembling movements, many of which are very concrete and direct, sometimes even violent. The piece has become a theatre of extremely conflicting forces that clash in a structurally claustrophobic space. (Sebastian Claren)

»Despite these manipulations, I believe memory cannot be fully erased; it endures in the hidden spaces of the mind and collective consciousness. … And even if a memory disappears completely, the heart retains something. A slight tremor or pain, some bit of joy, a tear.« (Elena Rykova)

Children pieces

Video performance by Uwe Rasch
for the children, Mrs S. and her helpers WP

Hoverboard riders: Volunteers from FSJ Kultur Baden-Württemberg

Neue Vocalsolisten

One song describes the problems of a mother/child relationship, a second relies on drug treatment to help a child recover. In the third, we learn about a »fabulous« resilience. In other words, the musical basis is formed by the songs Hänschen klein, Häschen in der Grube and Auf einem Baum ein Kuckuck saß.
