In its artistic exploration of concrete realities of life and the creation of surreal worlds of sound and images, ensemble mosaik pursues a ‘strategy to incite a lively desire for change’. Like Max Ernst in his surrealist paintings, Jakob Diehl quotes the topos of the fertile, exploited, overgrown or devastated landscape in a musical parable, through which man staggers, largely oblivious to history and the future. Lucia Kilger deals with the reality of the young generation’s life between analogue and digital spheres, characterised by simultaneity, fast pace and exuberant sensory overload. Inspired by Robin Hanson’s research into robots that are conditioned to have aesthetic experiences and develop needs and empathy, Zara Ali projects us far into a future that may no longer be surreal.
