Since mid-February 2023, there has been no trace of Maria Kalesnikawa. Like many others, the Music of the Centuries team and the New Vocal Soloists are very concerned about this and support Amnesty International’s »Letter Against Oblivion« campaign to save the friend and former colleague who fought so bravely for the liberation of her homeland. After a year in pre-trial detention, she was sentenced to 11 years in prison in a penal colony on September 6, 2021. Due to her extreme prison conditions, her health has extremely deteriorated.

Music of the Centuries and the New Vocal Soloists therefore cordially ask you to participate in the action of Amnesty International, which in essence demands the immediate as well as unconditional release of Maria Kalesnikawa.

A sample letter in German and English is provided. However, it can also be written in Belarusian.

The letter should be sent (by mail or by post) to the Prosecutor General of Belarus by September 30, 2023, as well as a copy to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Berlin.
